41 dogs and 18 cats boarded a flight to new homes

Fifty-nine shelter animals, 41 dogs and 18 cats, boarded a flight out of Louisiana in the early morning hours of June 29 and landed in New Jersey by the afternoon. The transport, called the Summer Lovin' Flight to Freedom and funded by donors to GreaterGood, moved the animals out of overcrowded shelters and toward a shot at adoption. Volunteers and staff from the sending and receiving shelters worked alongside the Good Flights crew to get everyone there safely. Among the passengers were a dog named Spaghetti and a cat named Alexis, who, according to the organizers, is ready to be treated like the royalty she is. The animals headed to their new shelters to settle in and will be available for adoption in the coming days. Thousands more are still waiting in shelters, which is the part nobody at Good Flights forgets. The next flight is already the goal.
