A disposable camera, a toddler's photos, and 3.4 million tears

A Japanese photographer working under the name Yusa Film approached a young family on a bench with a disposable camera and a request: shoot whatever you want for a few days, and I'll turn it into a video. The couple, with their two-year-old son Tsuntsun, agreed. The dad asked, cheekily, whether the camera was free and whether Film would also cover developing. "Of course," Film replied. What came back was more than snapshots. Each parent wrote their son a letter. "Dear Tsuntsun, You are the joy of our lives! I'm more excited to see how your story unfolds than to watch the final episode of One Piece!" the father wrote. The film Film stitched together has now been watched 3.4 million times, largely by people trying not to cry at their desks. The photos are blurry, candid, and lit by imperfect overhead kitchen bulbs. Some of them were taken by Tsuntsun.
