A passing crane crew turned around and saved her life
They had a crane and somewhere to be. They turned around.
A woman trapped in her car under a pickup truck was freed Tuesday morning after a passing crane crew turned around to help, Payette County officials said. The crash happened at the intersection of Highway 52 and Highway 72 in New Plymouth, Idaho, with the 911 call logged at 7:01 a.m. Firefighters arriving at the scene found the pickup resting on top of the woman's vehicle. Then they spotted a large crane from Orizabas Crane Service of Emmett driving nearby. Deputy Travis Downey was sent to catch up with it and ask for help. The crew came back. A nurse who saw the crash had already stopped to tend to the driver before responders arrived. "We truly believe that because of the quick thinking, willingness to help and selfless actions of the Orizabas Crane Service crew, this woman's life was saved," Sheriff Andy Creech said. The driver had minor injuries and is expected to be okay.
