An 8th grader at Sumner High School & Academy in Riverview, Florida, challenged his teacher to a dance-off during an exam break in December 2022. He should have quit while he was ahead. Video shared by assistant principal Natalie McClain shows the boy finishing his moves, tapping his teacher's shoulders, then visibly realizing what he had set in motion. Ms. Yolanda Turner, a 20-year veteran educator, tapped in. She popped her shoulders. The students lost their minds. "The music was on, all the kids were pumped," Turner told Fox 13. "So I said, I'm going to tap in." The clip drew more than 5 million views on X, and Missy Elliott replied with fire emojis. It later earned Turner a guest spot on the Jennifer Hudson Show. "I really try to emphasize for kids to be their authentic selves and to really never be afraid to express who they are no matter who's watching," she said.
