An 88-year-old took up bodybuilding. Arnold Schwarzenegger noticed.
He follows 14 accounts. One belongs to an 88-year-old.
Mick Wadge, an 88-year-old grandfather in the United Kingdom, took up bodybuilding to build his strength and started posting videos on TikTok at the suggestion of his trainer, Ross Starkie. He quickly gathered thousands of followers. Then he gathered one in particular. Arnold Schwarzenegger sent Wadge a direct message offering to introduce him to two coaches in the United States. "Love what you are doing! Keep pumping!" Schwarzenegger wrote. Starkie was skeptical enough to run a few checks. "We checked his blue tick and even got AI to check it was real," he told the BBC. "Out of the six-and-a-half million followers Arnold Schwarzenegger's got, he follows 14, and one of them is Old Man Mick's account." Fans use the videos as motivation. One commenter said if they were not like Mick at 88, they had failed at life. Wadge disagreed. "You be the best version of yourself," he replied.
