Teens saw a boy sitting alone and asked him to play
They saw a boy sitting alone. They didn't know why.
A group of teenagers at Urban Air Adventure Park in Bellingham, Massachusetts, noticed a 7-year-old boy sitting alone last week and asked him to play. The boy, Tristan, is autistic. The teens did not know that, and it did not come up. Livy Molinari started things off by complimenting a ball Tristan had just won. "I said, 'That's a really nice ball you have,'" she recalled. She asked to hold it. He said yes. That turned into roughly 40 minutes of tossing the ball around and going down the slides. Tristan's mother, Christina Caron, watched the whole thing. She said her son is not always met with kindness by children who read him as a little different. "To see these teenagers just be so inclusive, and so welcoming and warm, it was just a really good feeling," she said. The teens told WBZ-TV they had not been trying to make a point. They just wanted another kid to play with.
