The births are expected between June and December, since the women are on different trimester timelines. The unit set a smaller record in 2019, when 11 nurses were expecting at once. "It just kept growing and growing," nurse manager Amberly Saner told ABC News. Rileigh Batten, who is having her second child, wants her longtime coworker Maddie in the room when the day comes. Maddie has worked alongside her for five years and is also pregnant. "They trust the people that are in that room with them when they're delivering, and they just want them to care for them," Saner said. Recently 15 of the 17 gathered for a group photo in matching uniforms. The hospital has confirmed its support staff can cover the leave.
