Taunton, a mother of three, could have driven past. She pulled over instead, and while she was helping, another car struck her. She survived and now faces a long recovery, People reported. There was a detail she only learned later. One of the teenage drivers turned out to be the son of a friend she had not seen in years. The donation from Swift, recently married, topped a fundraiser that loved ones started for medical bills. Taunton says the day rearranged her priorities. "I want to make sure that I am taking time, even if it's just going to grab a coffee with a friend, because we never know how you're going to leave this earth," she said.
