A student challenged his teacher to a dance-off. She won.

A dance-off between an 8th grader and his teacher at Sumner High School & Academy in Riverview, Florida has drawn more than 5 million views since an assistant principal posted it in December 2022. The student challenged Yolanda Turner, a 20-year veteran educator, during an exam break. He finished his routine, tapped her shoulders, and seemed to realize his mistake a beat too late. Turner stepped in and started popping her shoulders, and the crowd of students came undone. "The music was on, all the kids were pumped," Turner told Fox 13. "So I said, I'm going to tap into the dance." She said she tries to teach students to be themselves no matter who is watching. Missy Elliott replied to the original post with fire emojis. The clip later earned Turner a guest spot on The Jennifer Hudson Show. The student has not, as far as anyone knows, asked for a rematch.
