Instead of selling it, Jonathan suggested they give it to someone who was homeless. “I said we should give it to someone who’s homeless.” As they walked toward the stadium, the group spotted a homeless man sitting on Westgate Street. They approached him and offered him the ticket. The man, who Jonathan says is named Simon, gladly accepted. For Simon, it was more than just a ticket to a rugby match. It was his first time ever inside the stadium. The group made sure he could enjoy the experience to the fullest, buying him drinks and a hot dog while they watched Wales put on an impressive performance, defeating Italy 42-0. But the most memorable moment came when the Welsh national anthem began. “He cried during the anthem. He said it was one of the best things that had ever happened to him.” A ticket that might have simply been sold or left unused instead became a memory Simon will carry with him for a long time.
