Three teens stopped to fix a tire. They saved a life.

Three Cooper City High School students were headed out for a fishing day on April 19 when they spotted Diego Fernandez-Delgado struggling with a blown tire on South Flamingo Road in Florida. The 65-year-old had two problems. His phone was dead, and his chest had started to hurt. He was having a heart attack, and he had no way to call anyone. Logan Royer, Cody Magrone and Brody Murray crossed the McDonald's lot to help. "We saw him on the side of the road and we were like, let's go help him," Magrone told WSVN-TV. The tire stopped mattering when Royer noticed the man was drenched in sweat and could barely speak. One teen called 911 while the others stayed. "There's an old guy on the side of the road," he told the dispatcher. "He does not feel good at all." First responders said the quick call likely saved his life. On May 12, recovered after several procedures, Fernandez-Delgado thanked the boys in person at a city ceremony. All three are now considering careers as first responders.
