A dad, four daughters, and an ice cream boat

Long Island, New York ยท 1 July 2026

A Long Island family sells small-batch ice cream from a 21-foot boat, cruising the local coves and canals with their phone number displayed proudly on top. Eric Mann left a job in electrical construction to keep the family name going, tracing back generations to a beloved bakery in Queens. Now he runs the vessel with his daughter Caitlin, alongside his wife Linda and daughters Amanda and Cassidy. The boat carries a subzero fridge stocked with 30 gallons of ice cream, offering both classic flavors and creative combinations. Waterfront customers get two choices. Flag them down, or call ahead. "We figured, why not bring something that we love to the water?" Caitlin told The New York Post. The idea caught on so thoroughly that the boat now gets booked for parties and events. Many locals have no idea the Manns also run a shop on dry land.
