Privacy.
How honeyletter handles your information. Short, direct, no dark patterns.
01What we collect
The minimum we need to send you a daily email and run a small newsletter business.
- Your email address — you give it to us when you subscribe.
- Email engagement — did you open today's letter, did you click a story. Used to tell whether the curation is working.
- Basic page analytics — page views and signup events on honeyletter.app, via Meta Pixel (see below) and Cloudflare. Aggregate, not personally identifying.
- Payment info — only if you subscribe to honeyletter+ (opening later this summer). Stripe processes the payment; we never see or store your card number.
02What we don't collect
- Your name, phone number, address, or any identifying detail beyond email.
- Your browsing history outside honeyletter.app.
- Anything we don't need to send you the letter.
03How we use it
- To send you the daily email.
- To measure which stories landed and tune the curation.
- To measure ad performance on Meta (Facebook, Instagram) so we can find more readers without burning money.
- To reach out about subscription issues — refunds, account problems, the rare service notice.
04Meta Pixel disclosure
We use the Meta Pixel (also called Facebook Pixel) on honeyletter.app to measure ad performance on Facebook and Instagram. The pixel records page views and signup events and sends that data to Meta in aggregate form. It does not read the contents of your email, and it does not follow you to other websites on our behalf.
You can opt out of Meta's ad personalization in your Facebook ad preferences, or block tracking pixels site-wide using a browser extension. The site works fine either way.
05Vendors we share data with
We use a small number of vendors to actually deliver the service. They handle the data only on our behalf, and they're not allowed to sell, share, or repurpose it.
- Resend — sends the daily email. Sees your email address and engagement events.
- Supabase — our subscriber database. Stores your email and subscription status.
- Stripe — processes honeyletter+ payments (when launched). Sees your payment method directly; we don't.
- Cloudflare — serves the site, obfuscates email addresses, blocks abuse.
- Meta — receives anonymized page-view and signup-event data for ad measurement.
06What we never do
- Sell, rent, or trade your email address. Ever. Not under any circumstances.
- Share your email with advertisers or partners.
- Run ads inside the daily email.
- Use your email or engagement data to train AI models.
07Your rights
- Unsubscribe — one click in any email. Takes effect immediately.
- Delete your data — email hello@honeyletter.app. We delete everything within 7 days and confirm.
- Export your data — same address. We'll send you everything we have on file.
- GDPR / CCPA — we honor access, deletion, and portability requests from anywhere in the world, no questions asked.
08Cookies
We use the minimum cookies needed to make the subscribe form work and to fire the Meta Pixel. No advertising cookies beyond Meta Pixel. You can block them in your browser; the site still works.
09Children
honeyletter isn't directed at anyone under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from children. If we discover that a subscriber is under 13, we delete the data and the subscription.
10Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that affects you, we'll email you at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Smaller corrections — typos, clarifying wording — we just update the page and bump the effective date.
11Contact
Privacy questions, deletion requests, or anything else: hello@honeyletter.app. Put "Privacy" in the subject line and you'll get a quick reply.
